BarelySocial is an Events and Meetings Directory that anyone can use to create, publish and manage events or meetings, create pages for local venues and share social calendars with friends.

BarelySocial enables people to selectively share information and communicate with each other.

What you can do at BarelySocial:

Events

Manage your social calendar. Publish events - Birthday Parties, Graduation Parties, Picnics - or Business Meetings and invite guests. Setup recurring events once for automated broadcasting. Look up exciting events in your local area, see who is invited, who is attending and find something to do. RSVP to interesting events; and check out photos of past events.

Scene

Interesting Events occur in the local scene. Check out interesting scenes in the neighbourhood. You like a scene? - Create a home for it and share it with friends! Upload photos - even background music to give it a sense of identity. Group scenes by other like places; see special offerings, operating calendar, accomodations and other offerings. What do other people think about the scene? Check out reviews, photos and events.

Photos

We love pictures. Who doesn't? So we had to include this feature. Create photo albums - as many as you like and upload all those fun photos. All photo albums are privacy-enabled. Want to protect incriminating pictures from certain buddies? - Well, we give you the power; use it! Play around with the photos. Convert them to black and white, rotate them, add caption, do whatever you like, they are your photos!

Photo Stories

Sometimes pictures alone aren't enough, we know. You want to tell a story, complete with a timeline and a brief paragraph filling in the little details that the camera couldn't capture. Well, that's why we added the Photo Stories feature; to enable you to organize photos into a story that can describe the event, the night, the moment, the weekend by creatively mixing pictures and words. Try it, you will like it. Create as many stories as you like; and yes, they are privacy-enabled; we are committed to protecting your information. Of course people can add comments. What fun is it if you can't share? Let your buddies know!

Groups

Do you like a movie? Do you want to start a movement, a fan club? Create a common interest group and grow it by inviting your buddies and well wishers. Each group can have a lounge, photos and a message board. You think you are that popular? Well, create as many groups as you like. Yes - the groups are also privacy-enabled.

Documents

Where is the latest copy of your resume? Somewhere at home? Well, how about you store it in a location where you can access it any time, anywhere as long as you have access to the internet. That's the idea we had in mind. It's not just resumes - homework, excel spreadsheets, powerpoint presentations, name it; store it online now. And yes, the documents are also privacy-enabled.

Messages

We had to include a way for you to communicate with your buddies and share private messages; we just had to, sorry. Send private messages, including attachments; and we included a feature that lets you know when your message has been received. We cannot guarantee they will respond, but at least you will know they received the message. All messages are private.

Buzz

You cannot have scene and events in the same context without some gossip; some buzz; some news; that would be plain boring! Our goal is to promote an entertaining medium, so we had to introduce this feature, early. Create and share your own buzz; or simply link to local interesting buzz of the local dailies. Please quote the source and give them credit. Create the buzz in advance and pre-schedule a release date.

Blogs

Bloggers, we didn't forget you; couldn't forget you. Create, manage and share your blog. Include images, links and more in elegant editing style. Yes, blogs are privacy-enabled.
